Anne was born in England and raised in Canada and the US. She moved to New York City in 1970 and lived there for twelve years working as a graphic/multimedia designer and fine artist.
In 1985 she moved to California, first to San Diego, then in 1998 to Healdsburg. It was in Southern California that her painting evolved from abstract form to contemporary realism with a strong emphasis on nature. The striking flora of the area became an inspiration to the highly dramatic "imagescapes" that she painted. Giant agaves, layers of palm fronds or swirling patterns of aloe were painted along with intense skies and highly contrasted architectural features, some with layers of sand; to create scenes that were both imaginary and real.
Since moving to Healdsburg, Anne's vision changed again; this time to reflect the surrounding environment. Landscapes, valleys, vineyards and, and mostly, the Russian River, have become the subjects of her work.
